¶ Obtain Symbol of the Apprentice
- Kill Sir Edwin Motte in Qeynos Hills, Rathe Mountains, or East Freeport and loot Head of Sir Edwin Motte (East Freeport has the fewest placeholders).
- Give the head to Kazen Fecae in Lake Rathetear → Symbol of the Apprentice.
¶ Obtain Symbol of the Serpent
- Loot a Flowing Black Robe from Najena (Najena) or 100 % from Siladdarae N`Riese / Utandar Rizndown in The Overthere.
- Nektulos Forest: give Venenzi Oberzendi the Symbol of the Apprentice → Twisted Symbol of the Apprentice; then give her the Robe → Rolling Stone Moss.
- Lake Rathetear: give Emkel Kabae the Twisted Symbol + Moss → Symbol of the Serpent.
¶ Obtain Symbol of Testing
- Chardok: kill Grand Herbalist Mak`ha for Manisi Herb.
- Swamp of No Hope: give Ssessthrass the Symbol of the Serpent → Scaled Symbol; then give him Scaled Symbol + Manisi Herb → Refined Manisi Herb.
- Lake Rathetear: give Emkel Kabae the Refined Herb → Symbol of Testing.
¶ Obtain Symbol of Insanity
- Lake Rathetear: give Kazen Fecae the Symbol of Testing to spawn a bone golem, a failed apprentice, and a tortured soul.
- Kill them and loot Symbol of Insanity from the tortured soul.
¶ Obtain Gkzzallk in a Box
- Plane of Fear: loot Slime Blood of Cazic-Thule from Dread/Terror/Fright.
- Plane of Hate: loot Eye of Innoruuk (named).
- Plane of Sky (keep expedition open!): gather for Cloak of Spiroc Feathers:
- Black Silk Cape – Keeper of Souls, Island 4 (spawns 30 – 60 min after first kill).
- Silver Disc – azaracks, Island 2.
- Spiroc Feathers – mobs, Island 3.
- Timorous Deep: give Symbol of Insanity to Drendico Metalbones (NW island) → Journal of Drendico.
- Give Drendico the Journal + Slime Blood + Eye + Cloak → Prepared Reagent Box.
- Lake Rathetear: give Prepared Reagent Box to Kazen Fecae → Tome of Instruction.
- Back in Plane of Sky expedition: give 10 gp to a thunder spirit princess on Island 1 → spawns Gkzzallk on Island 3; give him the Tome → Gkzzallk in a Box.
¶ Final Turn-In
- Return to Lake Rathetear one last time and give Gkzzallk in a Box to Kazen Fecae → Scythe of the Shadowed Soul!
